Pros
One is way brighter than the previous two combined. They seem brighter than regular 40 watt bulbs. They do flicker at the dim setting on my range hood, but i was aware of that.
These bulbs are brighter than their incandescent ancestors and are a bright white. Gives almost a blue glow. Great color (not too blue), dims fine with microwave button.
Bought to go above my range in ge microwave. Used in over stove microwave.
Highly recommend upgrade. Was skeptical, but an excellent bulb. Overall very pleased.
Cons
The only way these would be a smart buy is if the price was equal to an incandescent which they aren't. Might make a desent night light but is not at all sufficient for illuminating cooktop. The color temperature is so high no one could stand to be in... Read More
Third bulb to fail sometime soon. Received august 13, 2015, quit working september 4, 2015. Edit 6 months after installing.

The outer box was professionally taped once then someone used scotch tape to tape it before i got it
