I will admit that some heat penetrated the silicone but i was handling superhot grills at the time so its understandable

They are not very thick though so if you are holding anything very hot you cannot hold it for too long

Certainly protect you from the heat but the rubber is a bit thicker than gardening gloves so not very flexible

I wasnt expecting much because of past experiences with silicone hot pads where i burned my hands through the hot pad but figured i would give them a shot and return them if they were junk

You get one of those scorching hot and a regular oven mitt has no chance of surviving
