Yes the very end of the material is taped to the roll tube but my window is not as tall as the roller is long so i will never lower it to the point to where all of it is unwound from the tube

If you are considering purchasing these i would make sure to only get one if it is at least 2 longer than your window is tall

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

That way at least one winding of fabric remains on the roll tube

There is a right bracket with a diamond shaped hole and a left one with a circular hole

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

That would have worked better in my situation because i have 2 windows side by side

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

However it really didnt turn out to be a big deal to me to have the chain come down in the middle of the windows but it would have been nicer hidden behind the curtains like on the right side

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The right side circular hole is for a rod shaped pin button that sticks out the left side of the roller mechanism

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The roller only overlaps the glass part of the sashes by 14 inch on each side so the alignment was critical
