I also have mild alopecia from time to time and it will cover any bald patches you may have. Just be sure to cover your forehead to prevent brown droplets on your face.
The root touch-up quick stick is the bomb! My crown area is where a use this. Quick spray of roots and good to go. I love this stuff and literally have to get my roots done (pure grey) every 5 weeks.
Cons
The nozzle/sprayer is just awful. Spray nozzle was broken, so it sprays all over your forehead. I use a gentle shampoo- perhaps a clarifying shampoo would work better.

Even though it was created to cover gray hair it also covers small ball spots that are caused by hair loss due to alopecia
