Pros

With the exception of a minor burr on the shoulder (just below the *) the quality is top notch. Superb quality. My best purchase from amazon in 10 years.

Great for limbing, cutting down medium trees, and decent at splitting wood. Comes razor sharp out of the box. Much handier than a chainsaw for liming on the ground. Great for splitting firewood.

The handle is so smooth and beautiful. Bites hard and deep every swing, and dont have to swing hard either. Wood grain was perfect and the handle couldn't have been straighter.

The leather cover is too tight and the axe cuts it if you push it in without fiddling with it

The axe head is well made but did not come sharp and had a bit of rolling on the bottom of the blade

I dont imagine it left the factory like that

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The rivets in the sheath might be the cause of the blade rolling on the bottom if it was forced into it during transit

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I like the sheath but i will be upgrading it to something else that has less chance of damaging the edge

Also keep in mind there is no warranty when bought through amazon i dont think ill need to use it but i wish i knew this before i ordered

I thought all gb axes have lifetime warranty but they need to be purchased thru their retailers for the warranty

The axe head looks like it was forged in the mines of moria hardened by the fires of smaug
