Pros

The leatherman has more tools on it but its stiffer. The philips screw driver is #2 (although it is very short and clumsy) the tool is not heavy and bulky.

The replaceable carbide inserts are very handy in case you cut something you should not be cutting. The only thing that might be an issue are the carbide triangular cutters. You can wear one out and then rotate it to a fresh cutter two more times.

New locking system is a very good idea. I love how the gerber tool open with a flick of the wrist. Locks are great, and double as a comfortable place to put one's thumb.

The finish is outstanding and maybe improved over the previous generation. Gonna have to order another and maybe a spare lol. My old one is in my surveyor's tool belt, and i carry the new one at all other times. This is the second gerber i have bought...  Read More

Quality

Im happy to report that they continue to match the quality of the first one i received 10 yrs ago

Its a gerber quality speaks for itself

Promptly cut my finger with the drop point blade

I thought the replaceable blades for the cutters would be nice touch but they dont cut worth a darn with the stripper notch in them

Price

The price is not bad for the best gerber ever made

Competitiveness

Better than the needlenose pliers on the competition for work in the trades

Conclusion currently the best multitool available for work in the trades

The competitions that open butterfly style are not at a comfortable angle to hold while working

I received a gerber multitool replacement under their lifetime warranty and have had two interactions with their support department
