If the computer was turned on without the tv being on the nvidea software messed up the hdmi settings on my computer

The problem i wanted to resolve was an intermittent loss of hd video signal between my passthrough hd amp a marantz receiver no less to my hd tv which dropped the video portion of the signal for several seconds on an intermittent basis

I bought the marantz amp specifically for its passthrough capability allowing for a the audio signal to be parsed directly from the satellite receiver
