    I had to cut off the old “quick connect” and threaded fittings that were used on the old filter.

    First thing i did when opening the filter package was to install the filter to the ice maker line and turn on the water.

    The issue there is that they will leak unless the water line is completely seated, and you really can only tell that by running water through the line and seeing if it leaks.
