Software setup, updates and so forth, i opted to do the following: setup garmin express on my pc, then update camera software.

Obviously, having to repeat this every time you step into your car is major pain in the rear and would have been a deal breaker.

After doing more research and considerable head scratching, i later found out that the camera has to have a proper gps signal for the initial setup sequence to complete fully.

So, depending on your location, this must be done next to a large window or even outdoors (which i was not doing initially as i had camera connected to desktop pc).
