Got this in january of this year, and within a couple weeks the gold color came off, revealing the actual gold color that's pictured.

The screen protector protected my screen (duh) and there wasn't even a scratch after i took it off.

I haven't had a chance to test the protection, but similarly constructed cases i've owned have provided adequate protection over the years, so i assume that it will be the same with this case.

The fit is pretty tight, the case is a little on the heavy side, but i assume that will equate better protection.

On the downside, apparently the belt clip piece is prone to failure, but that seems to be common place in this price range - if you read the reviews for the numerous phone cases out there, belt clip/holster failure is the most common complaint.
