Got this in january of this year and within a couple weeks the gold color came off revealing the actual gold color thats pictured

I havent had a chance to test the protection but similarly constructed cases ive owned have provided adequate protection over the years so i assume that it will be the same with this case

The fit is pretty tight the case is a little on the heavy side but i assume that will equate better protection

On the downside apparently the belt clip piece is prone to failure but that seems to be common place in this price range if you read the reviews for the numerous phone cases out there belt clipholster failure is the most common complaint
