The steaps across the bridge of your foot doesn't allow them to slip.

I had a pair of socks that i have tried to wear before that had grippy parts on it and after a couple of hours i had to take them off because they started to hurt the bottom of my foot, not so with these.

Overall a good quality sock for yoga, however i'm a true size women's us7 and these socks are about a 1/2 inch too short overall.
