I have no idea of how heavy would it be just followed the instructions on how to pick the proper blanket and picked this one because the reviews said it did not get too warm for most of people

However the big win of this blanket is that it is one full piece unlike the other were there were 3 pieces sewn together on the edges so when you pick up the blanket the outside layers move separate from the marble center
