Minimal compression option gives best jpeg quality while still being smaller than tiff. Flatbed scanners go to 16-bit per color depth or even higher for tiff.

I like the wireless feature as it means that i do not need to connect it near to an access point via ethernet. It works on wifi, so i can set it up anywhere in my office and it uploads to both the cloud and to my laptop.

The only real negative is that the extensions for capturing scanned pages and the business card reader both feel a bit flimsy. The ability to create custom scan profiles is terrific. Receipts are recognized and stored in separate folder.

Document feeder works well. It automatically straightens them up.

Scansnap ix-1500 deluxe piece of garbage. It scans into pdf or jpeg but doesn't let you choose the file type. Sometimes one page in a multi-page pdf is upside down or backwards.
