Its a fair representation of the actual rifle but you have to realize its just a toy and its not going to shoot 25 yards
The water pellets shoot farther and truer than the darts but the first 15 shots or so break apart as they leave the muzzle
Making sure the saftey is on before they handle the toy gun is great for ingraining good habits
My only real complaint is that you cant see through the removable scope which is merely a reservoir for holding the water pellets
