Pros & Cons

Pros

This is only my 4th meter and i use one daily. Everything about this meter looks and feels high quality. Fluke meter are very reliable.

The 117 is a great electrician's meter. It can test everything from a battery to a household receptacle to a heat pump run capacitor. It works but is not optimal for micro-electronics applications. Loz is really useful when troubleshooting.

Cons

Only displayed o. Performed an ohm check on fuse itself and got o. The backlight is not even a true backlight, it's a small dim white led in the lower left corner shining on the front of the lcd. Don't like lcd display.

Great meter but the leads were junk

It will register values at lower resolution as decimal places

It works but is not optimal for microelectronics applications

No fluke doesnt need a review for its capability but should come with a case for this particular model since it is mostly used at home

Display hard to read unless look at it straight on

The probe wires are a vinyl material and are not nearly as pliable and flexible as the old rubber ones were

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I assume the move to vinyl or pvc or whatever the insulation is has something to do with high voltage or maybe a lawsuit or perhaps cost

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The result is that the wires that you wrap around the meter in storage try to keep that shape and then get tangled
