Well it appears to leak out of the washer area and did not shut off
Another washer over the thread on the outside wall and then a back nut to tighten the valve firmly into the cistern

As someone who regular has mini disasters when attempting to do any diy tasks the fitting of this fill valve was a doddle

Had a problem with float sticking preventing system from refilling but a close inspection revealed a stray plastic lump from the moulding process that was blocking the float mechanism

Was no washer included so had to go buy one no big deal and put on thread sealing tape to ensure no leaks
