Pros

Marko kloos writes military sci-fi like no other. He does a good job of battle plotting.

Andrew and halley have to deal with an infestation of lankies in greenland. Earth uses all the hardware it has and manages to spring its surprise attack on the lankies. The action is very solid as the lankies come out in force, and we get to see more ...  Read More

The words just flow so smoothly. That layer of complexity is solidly presented. There is the usual comms going on when the action is fast and furious.

As a retired techie, i enjoy a good story about using the equipment and the mojo required to make it all work. Luke daniel's narration is on point, and the production is flawless. Wrote a nice picture of arcadia.

Cons

The frontlines series is built upon a lackluster-to-terrible foundation. Battle sequences are well written and engaging, but with each novel all you get is a series of sequences that have little to no development implications for the characters or gre...  Read More

Unfortunately this is also where the author makes several critical plotting mistakes

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

First of all he has the lanky cave situated deep inside the ice pack but heated up to a temperature of around 85 fahrenheit

These mistakes highlight a few other plot points that are never addressed the author keeps stating that the lankies like a much warmer moister atmosphere with a much higher concentration of co2

In fact so much more that it is poisonous to humans

Interestingly they appear to have no devices to warn them of the human missiles that obliterate their seed ships in space

The lankies caught on the martian surface do not seem to mind that they lost their air cover either and let multiple divisions of earth forces land

The only thing i did not like was that the lieutenant keeps losing his rifle that should never happen

The events in this book take place several months after the last books timeline
