So i opted to try and salvage my bag with this product.
It’s an extremely clever design with the removable pin and i’m super impressed by it.
Others yes, you would need to re-sew the straps but with the metal hardware it made the replacement a snap.
Price
I was disappointed because the bag i bought was a great price.
Competitiveness
The bag is in perfect condition even with 2 years of daily use with a 30lbs load.

The strap buckle got crushed in between the door and frame.

On the strap buckle, the opening on the front (not the opening where the pin slides in an out), the gap is a good size to accommodate almost all straps, but if it was 1/2mm x 1/2 mm bigger, then it would accommodate the swiss gear backpacks strap ends much better.

The plastic pull does not come off (believe me, i tried).

The new buckle definitely won’t ever slip back off if i need to take it off.
