The pine pellets turn to sawdust then i wait an hour to make sure its dry then swish around the sawdust with a scooper so it drops through the bottom grate onto the pee pad then dump the sawdust into a trash bag

For the poop i scoop it out put it in a paper towel and plop in the toilet just the poop not the paper towel and flush

There is some tracking of litter outside the kid when cat jumps out but since theyre just little pellets i just pick them up and toss em back in its not like horrible clay litter that gets everywhere
