You need speakers to hear anything because it only connects the video and uses the sound from the laptop which isnt sufficient

You connect the outgoing video from our satellitedish box taking it out from where its connect to the tv to the av cord provided with the projector to view gamesshowsmovies showing on dish

Im very happy with the producy as i can use my usb stick or sd card to watch movies listen to music and be able to even play my ps4 on it

Speaker is clear as one you remember in school if that helps the sound questions i put a little portable speaker to it and sounds amazing for outdoor movies unjt is a bit loud as far as cooling fan goes dont expect whisper quiet
