Rather than allow her characters to deny their vulnerabilities in a new environment and the slow erosion of their values and selfrespect or to provide an outrageous emergence of a younger superhero character to caretake the their presumed helplessness in a changing world the group relies on the inherent skills and intuition of one of its oldest characters

I didnt know what to expect after reading the description of the novel and tackling the first few chapters

I found some of the dialogue a bit stilted and for as good as the narrative prose and exposition was i didnt always believe in the characters because they werent speaking like normal people in various situations
