Pros & Cons
Pros
This is pauls story and if you want to learn about what makes him tick and how he looks at the world i highly recommend this book. Paul's childhood forms a very poignant and emotional part of the story. It involves incredible emotional pain due to the... Read More
He was made fun of as a child due to his lack of a right ear and deafness in it. He recognizes some may have greater issues with substance * due to genetic predispositions. He isn't shy about expressing his opinions of ace and peter, who appear to * a... Read More
Cons
In a truly classless move, especially from someone who claims to have found the meaning of life and fountain of happiness by being nice to people, paul stanley offers a boring book filled with cliches and trite armchair psychologist advice. Paul nearl... Read More
Paul, sadly, i really get the felling he really wishes ill towards ace and peter. Peter is the worst person in the world and worst drummer that ever lived.
With every song paul croaks out in kiss or in his new band soul station, his legacy gets a little more ruined. Everyone deserves my condescension and derision.
The entire book has paul positing himself as somehow the keeper of kiss. I wish kiss was more like the 70s kiss, and less like the tribute band. Paul stanley is a big flake in his own right.

Him and genes first mistake was not firing them during the recording of their first album and cutting ties permanently

Competitiveness
At one point paul acknowledges that ace gave kiss the lead guitar that really made their sound and turned kiss into a marketable act

If anyone thinks paul is a prick for not finding the magic way to keep a couple original kiss members from imploding on themselves please know if you don’t know that the constant babysitting rescuing and beating your head against a wall because you just can’t perfectly meet their needs saying just the right things not being judgmental while also not encouraging use to prevent ongoing abuse can just plain wear you out

I actually literally saw caring and empathy for these members in the documentary kisstory made a few years after this book came out

I could see genuine caring in both paul and gene’s gestures when they welcomed their band members back during a series of kiss conventions
