    So when i closed it back up and saw it didn't work, i thought i had broken the cable and i had to almost completely dissemble it again.

    Another ribbon cable on the side connecting to the mechanism that actually links to the console kept sliding loose which made it difficult to close the joycon back up without it disconnecting.
