Despite not be able to align it as show in the picture (the magnetic sensor had to align to the side of the receiver to work with my door) the item as worked flawlessly.

It uses bluetooth for it's connection so you will need a 4th gen apple tv or higher or a homepod or even an ipad that never leaves your house if you want it to work while you're not home.

Not a deal breaker, but despite elgato including free spacers, they are often not enough to align both bits.

Not sure if it's the unit or the battery that's defective - something i haven't yet had time to dig into.
