    Otherwise if you just use a just regular meat thermometer with remote - it will only alarm when you reach the set temp.

    I set the meat alarm to let me know when the chicken was done and the barbecue alarm to let me know if the temp gets out of range.

    Bought to upgrade a older model, wish the temp probes were bullet proof have had to replace a few on the older model
