There is a plastic liner inside the top lid and water gets up in there and is difficult to dry out

Update the grinding noise has stopped and i have figured out how to clean the lid

Once the gasket is out you can see there are two white clips which hold the white lid liner in place

It took me a couple of tries the first time but it should pop right out
