Pros & Cons

Pros

The number 2 size is very nice for making a fine line, particular for creating branches or outlining finer shadow lines. The points are unsurpassable. It holds lots of paint and the tip is always sharp.

Fine tip does the thinnest of lines while the belly holds copious amounts of water. It is springy, soft, durable, and holds a tremendous amount of pigment and water. Easy to clean by rinsing with water when finished.

The kolinsky-tajmyr sable is the finest watercolor brush i've used. The sable gives you a lot of control to make a fine line or a thicker, all based on how lightly you press the brush against the paper. R12 1/4 sable/nylon blend dagger).

The brush itself is fantastic! In this size it is within what i am willing to pay. Expensive but worth every penny. The kind of brush you use is typically dependent on how you work, and what you personally like.

Escoda's sizing convention runs a little smaller than other brands. The release is dependable. Used a #6 round while painting with gouache in italy.

Cons

Does not point up worth a darn. The handle is poorly finished. I was so excited to get it, but i am so disappointed at the fact that the point splays out and does not hold!

The #2 is terrible. Buyer beware.
