    Steve olson does a wonderful job of capturing the land and people of mount helens, the nature, the big business of logging, spectacular nature as they unwittingly speed towards a coming disaster of apocalyptic proportions.

    One minor drawback of using an old kindle is that the numerous maps are essentially worthless.

    The author did a great job, adding facts and background stories of the people described in the book, either because they owned the land or died during the eruption.
