    I'm not sure i'm a fan of the velcro closure style, but it does work ok for keeping them closed up.

    The stirrup strap is webbing that on one end is punched to go into a belt buckle like buckle on one side.

    Once you have strapped the top of the gaiter, there really isn't anywhere to stow the dangling end of the strap.
