We bought it for our floor bed and for my rheumatoid arthritis and for me being on the floor and a firmer well made mattress helps me the most. I co sleep with my daughter also and this makes a great bed for that. I don’t think it would for everyone with rheumatoid arthritis but for me I need a very firm mattress plus I have always loved floor mattress better than traditional beds.  Read Less

I used to suffer from chronic lower back pain, with it being near crippling in the mornings. After spending over $1,000 for a top of the line mattress only for my back pains to intensify I was at my wits end and genuinely dreaded going to sleep. While sharing my issues on a chiropractor visit they suggested I looked into sleeping on the floor to see if it would help alleviate the pain. I'll be honest I was skeptical at first, but was desperate and willing to try anything.I purchased this futon as a trial run back in February of 2017 and never looked back! Morning back pain has since reduced drastically with more pain free mornings than not - something I never thought I'd see again. Mattress is comfortable and easy to care for; I wash the futon cover + blankets weekly and air it outdoors monthly, as such I've never had issues with odor.Mattress has consistently kept a thickness of 2.5 inches, which is less then the advertised 3 but is so comfortable I never felt this was something to gripe about.While I understand sleeping on the floor may not be for everyone, if you are entertaining the idea I absolutely recommend this futon mattress.
