More in depthit is a cheap plastic housing to secure a heating element similar to the one on an electric stove top with a metal pan on top

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The heating element will turn on and off to keep the temperature constant and theres plenty of heat to cook the takoyakis so no problem here

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Just dont overfill it with batter to avoid spilling and having to clean the inside of the machine

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

When the takoyaki are about 5075 done you should turn it off and turn back on after 1 minute so they do not overcook

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I think it should be a little heavier because qhenever i turn it on and off i have to hold it in order not to move

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The temperature is not adjustable so after you cook the first batch you might want to turn onoff while cooking so it wont burn

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

By then the batter should be getting cooked
