Update: original battery i received failed after a few months.

I tried to buy an oem battery at my local apple store (they used to sell batteries), but i was told my machine had been eol'd by apple and they no longer sold batteries for it.

I downloaded an update of the operating system and installed it and i only used about 20%.

I guess that generation of mbp never went above 2 hours anyway.
