The removable clear bag is obviously made to be taken out for airport security but when i traveled i didnt even have to open the kit up just flopped the whole thing closed into the bin and that was fine

Its also got enough give that even if you cant fit something into the pockets a big brush for example you could just lay it inside the kit and zip the whole thing up around it like a bag

It is a little bigger than most toiletry bags but since its softsided it collapses pretty well according to whats in it

Honestly ive never used it because it is very small but if you were truly desperate i suppose it might work

I personally would not do this because the clear plastic is not very robust

Mine got some holes poked in it from the small plastic tip that sticks out from my gillette fusion razor handle when there was no blade cartridge attached
