I'm a diy'er and this made sense to insulate the contacts between the disconnects and the heating element. It is fire retardant, it isinsulating for electrical connections, and insulating for emi & rfi.

The replacement spade connector that hooks the wire onto the igniter had a plastic housing that would surely have melted when the gas burner was lit so we removed the plastic and used this tape instead to cover the connection

The tape was easy to use as it didnt keep getting stuck to itself while maneuvering it around the tiny wire connection but stuck really well to itself when stretched around the spot being repaired

I cut and trimmed the silicone handle covers razor blade and then used this tape to wrap the silicone handles very tightly to the proper shape of the extremely hot handles handles cold when i did this

I put the tape over the trimmed silicone handles and around the small space between the silicone handle cover and the pan to where the cover did not reach
