It also works well to duplicate clone one hd to another one without the use of a pc but it will only make a copy of the exact size of the individual partitions of the source hd onto the target hd

Took forever around 24 hrs but to be expected w the data 2tb worth of data on the drive

This unit is not for the novice or really to be used as a longterm drive holder as the drives are only held in place by gravity

You can also just insert a drive to format it or to run chkdsk to check for errors or to identify and attempt recovery of bad sections

When you press and hold the front top button for 5 seconds then the dock will begin duplicating the disk one to disk two
