You can listen through the covers if you want but they do sap down the treble a lot

I bought the large set recommended for my speaker probably as this is a generic set the covers are much larger than the speaker so at the bottom is slackloose there are few exit drainage holes to allow water to drip but as the bottom is loose the bottom exit hole is elevated and after strong rain there is some water at the bottomthe two velcro strips which are used to fasten and hold the cover are too long for my speaker so most of the strip is just hanging but they still hold it relatively closed
