Super market’s own brand are fine but never use the cheapo zinc carbon type they always leak and will ruin the contacts in the torch rendering it useless so in an emergency about as much use as a chocolate teapot

They are the ability to have 3 levels of brightness the ability to make it flash the sos morse code and a strobe flashing function

First you have four settings if out and about the sos flashing and fast flashing may be handy but for indoor use might be annoying unless you need it for a specific purpose only

It even has an orange ring that lights up and a strap you that will stop you losing the torch in case it slips out of your hand

I do wish that the mode setting was a separate switch sometimes when you turn it on you have to cycle through the modes to get to the one you want by tapping the power button
