My ferritin levels are now a quarter that they used to be. Prior to reading - ferritin @ 250, ~18mths later, ferrit in @ 39 (through blood donation 5x).

Dumping iron isn't just a scientific treatise. The length of the bibliography suggests it is. The us government requires processed food be fortied with iron.

The best way to do so is to donate blood, but many people aren't eligible to donate, so the book offers several alternatives.

Well-written, well-sourced. It's well written and succinct. Reads very easy and understandable.

Cutting-edge health advice teaches you to lift weights and avoid carbohydrates. Also that soy protein helps.



Cons

This was also a very narrow view of what constitutes a healthful diet. If it is above normal values, donate a pint of blood. The rest of the book is valuable only if you are concerned about biochemical/physiological implications of high blood iron.
