    The soft black plastic outer ring is probably going to flop off and get lost but it is decorative only and isnt essential to this product

    The gauge also holds its measurement after you pull it away from the tire and then you just press the valve on the side to reset it

    The last dial type tire gauge i had was the type you had to screw onto the valve stem which would allow pressure to escape while screwing it on and screwing it off
