Pros

It's really for any camera, as long as that camera has a standard tripod mounting hole at the bottom. This slider is ideal for a steadicam for two reasons. It allows you to move the unit laterally to dial in perfect laser projection when framing or fl... Read More

It has a thousand uses. The only downside on this rail is that the measuring scale is not as precise as the neewer rail. It helps alot to balance things out and it never once got in the way with the size.

Great machined piece that locks well and moves when you want it to. Large knob is used to move the track in the mounting base. Small knob locks it in place or adjusts movement tension.

It wiggles a little bit back and forth and side to side. This is great for focus stacking and has clicks not a smooth slide. The clicks are subtle and don't actually make it shaky.

Cons

One of the two 1/4-20 screws on my unit is defective and jams after only one turn into my camera's threaded mount. It is heavy. It was covered in machine grease. The control knob is often below the camera and very difficult to turn.

Gt a fantastic bargain at 10 even with the following caveats

I mounted this macro rail slider sideways and that let me move the camera a half inch left and right to align it with the teleprompter hood

Bought another one and was of a different quality

Gt the all chinese retail packaging is adequate but i would have preferred an appropriate storage box or at least a storage pouch

Used thi to make a labstyle vernier mount for a plugable usb microscope

My wife and i both use these for our extreme macro shots not just on dslrs but even on our superzoom pointandshoot cameras
