    Be warned, there is no reverse polarity protection and you will smoke the regulator immediately on hookup.

    The only difference between this and a real battery charger (other than full operator control) is that it doesn't cut off and tell you that the battery is fully charged - you have to be nerdy enough to tell that by looking at the twin displays.

    So even though it doesn't turn off your battery will not be over charged - unless you tell it to.
