I now have two 3D40 printers. It is great for the classroom! Very easy to setup and use. Changing the filament is a breeze and the filament costs or very affordable. I like that the Dremel 3D slicer software gives you the printing time and amount of filament used for the job. All in all, for the price point, it is a great little 3D printer.  Read Less

I have been using the 3D40 for over three years in a makerspace setting. This printer constantly outperforms other printers in our makerspace, including a Makerbot, Mojo, and Wanhao. The first layer typically has great adhesion with the use of painters tape on the glass build platform. The printer is excellent layer to layer and produces smooth, quality prints in reasonable time. Others have noted the use of proprietary filament; this is a convenience option you can take-or-leave. I use these 3D printers on carts where filament is suspended overhead, so using any filament is straightforward. My 3D40s have been used consistently in a very dusty environment. Although that is certainly not recommended, they have held up well and perform like new.The cloud software is a handy addition. I do wish there could be a more enterprise-oriented solution in the cloud software where users can log in and submit prints for approval. However the ability to print remotely is very nice and effective.I would recommend this 3D printer to those working in an educational or community setting who don't want to spend any time troubleshooting their 3D printer.  Read Less
