If you shed hair and you see it falling in your bathroom sink while you brush your hair, you know that in time, you will have to run a drain cleaner to break up a clog.

I have a chronic issue with hair and soap scum building up in my bathroom sink drain, necessitating crawling underneath, unfastening the ring that holds the stopper to the open/closed lever, pulling out the lever, trying to pull out the stopper but realizing i didn't push it up first so have nothing to grab, putting the lever back in and pushing stopper up, removing lever again, getting back topside quick enough before stopper subsides flush with the drain hole again, then peeling the muck away from the inside of the drain hole.

I thought it would leak quite a bit, but it doesn't seem to, although i don't run basins full of water by choice very often, just get them when the drain is clogged.
