I am impressed with the simple design
We mounted in our kitchen to an upside down outlet and are happy with the sturdiness
Then i wondered what would i do with the previous one
We had the dot on the kitchen counter with the long lightning cord attached

It is cheap plastic which is reflected by the price but i havent had any issues with it thus far
The price is high for a shaped piece of plastic

Saving a little money on the 2pack was icing on the cake there is also singleunit packaging

It does sag just the tiniest bit when its hanging horizontally but id be surprised if it didnt

After retiring one 2nd generation dot in favor of a show 5 and a second 2nd generation dot in favor of an echo with a larger higher quality builtin speaker i wanted to continue using the dots in two areas that were not in voice range of an alexa device

I noted 2nd generation only up in the headline to answer an oftenasked question that has sometimes received an incorrect answer

The 3rd generation dot models share a curvy sidewall their shape and circumference do not fit in this wall mount

The only thing i didnt like about it was that the echo did not fit completely snug into the unit
