Steve krug lays out the principles of good usability and shows how to apply them in practice. He is not the person who will bludgeon you over the head and call you an idiot.

The big takeaway for me is the repeated emphasis on doing testing on real users. This book offers a solid grounding in ux.

Cons

I intend to resell after the semester ends. Seems like the author gained some mainstream popularity and wanted to make a few extra bucks so increased the price.

This book talks about how to do usability tests, what's important when you develop an app and other cursory-level, anecdotal random stuff that didn't make me better. Outdated information and hyped up. Everything was painfully obvious to me.
