You need to make sure this is not plugged into a devide then put your headphones in pairing mode then plug this into the device to get it to work

I have to reconnect to my cordless ear phones every time but i think that is a function of them rather than this item

You have to make sure the connection is tight

One thing to know that did not come with the instructions with either device was that when you go to pair the ipod with the bluetooth earbuds you dont plug the adapter into the ipod until you have set the earbuds in pairing mode

If the adapter is plugged in first they will not connect
