After washed you will have to press them a bit to get the edges to lay down.

Had to wash them and my son tossed them in the dryer before i realized it.

I have washed these once and they did shrink a tiny bit, but not enough to make any difference for use.

However, they are made in india, are all cotton and seem large for a placemat until you wash them.

They shrink about 1-2 inches in width after washing them in the washing machine and putting them in the dryer so they are more like a normal size placemat.

I took them out of the dryer while they were still damp and them ironed them dry to flatten them out.
