I tested this item in a pizza oven have 2 in the house and could immediately figure out the exact time to start baking my pizzas 700 f or above

Work good but didnt get any direction with it dont know it the temp ever stops it just keeps going up and down

Not the air or a pot of water or a flame because i dont think it goes that high

It will also get confused it trying to scan say a pyrex dish on a heating element because the laser will go through the transparent glass and pick up reads from the actual heating element

The best way ive found to get accurate reads of a surface is to scan the surface in multiple spots while holding the button and then it gives you an average temp of that scanned area i hope
