I dont recommend this for traditional highlights without adding rootsdarker tones back into the top of your hair

The space between your root and the plastic nets hole is enough that is causes your highlights to have a blunt obvious end

This blends your natural root color or darker tone even if lighter than your natural color into the tops of the highlights which remedies the blunt highlight issue
