It feels good in your hand. Doesn't bend, even when opening heavier duty envelopes. Opened the envelope perfectly with no tears. It opens letters very well.
I wish they were a little more affordable because i'd love to buy several of these to include in a packaged gift. Very nice product, much nicer than expected. Would buy again.
This letter opener is an accurate reproduction. Looks great on my desk. Really like the medieval appearance.

As others have said it could be sharper like the generic letter openers available from any office supply retailer but theres likely some good reasons its not the nice weight mentioned comes largely from the thickness of the blade rather than just the hilt which adds to durability and as such the likely life of the product but makes standard semisharp edges as in other letter openers impractical the finish appears to be a chromelike plating which adds to the overall look but attempted sharpening would likely remove damage or otherwise scarmar the finish and thus destroy the look we purchasers wanted to begin with

If youre considering buying it for looks but want functionality buy the available display stand a standard letter opener
